About the lesson
My teaching style uses a holistic and mindfulness-based approach and meets the student’s unique learning style. I create an environment that feels safe to share any questions/thoughts with no judgment and try to make learning fun! With a background in Holistic health & mindfulness, I like to prioritize the physical and mental well-being of the students. For example, we will usually start a lesson with some grounding and calming breaths, set an intention + goal for the session, and then dive into the material. Throughout the lessons, I like to remind the students to drink water, take a stretch break, celebrate themselves + the small wins, and encourage them to maintain a positive mindset. I also try to help the student with organizational skills and goal-setting so they feel motivated. The majority of my teaching/tutoring experience has been at the elementary + middle school levels, so that’s ideally who my academic lessons are for. However, students of all ages can benefit (socially, physically, academically, mentally, and emotionally) from lessons in mindfulness, social/emotional learning, and yoga, and I can offer those lessons to all age groups.
