About the lesson
My goal as an educator is to feel where a student is in on their path and to begin to offer them the next few steps on their journey. This goes for any subject. This applies to a student in middle school working up a classical piece to audition for Allstate just as much as an undergraduate jazz performance major looking to learn jazz standards and improve their ability to improvise over chord changes.
The other goal of my teaching is to teach students to teach themselves and to practice. If I teach them that, they won't need me, and if they continue to study with me we can go far because they can self practice what we've covered so we can always be pursuing new material.

About Nick
I've been teaching for 7 years now and by this point I have diagnosed every sticking point a student of saxophone and music can come across and developed multiple ways to teach students to overcome these sticking points. My studio always has 5-20 students in it, depending on my schedule and current projects, and students I've taught experience a boom in their technique almost immediately coupled with a slow integration of universal musical concepts and theory into their instrumental performance.
