About the lesson

I teach in a guided way to help my students reach their goals.

I believe it's necessary to make constant progress to succeed in using new software to remain motivated.

For beginners, I've got a very strong track record of getting them from no knowledge of 3D software to proficient and self-sufficient by lesson 3. Completely equipped with enough base knowledge to make a proper model on their own with texturing, lighting, and rendering knowledge as well.

If you're stuck on a project and need some help. Let me know and we can work on a custom lesson to get you out of a jam. I can forgo the on-rail lessons and instead aid you in solving issues and giving industry-level advice.

I teach in a different way so that you can reach your goals quicker and improve on advanced techniques along the way.

Blender is a very large piece of software with lots of tools that each have multiple uses. It can be quite overwhelming for beginners. With my approach to teaching, even my absolute beginner students reach a confident point in creating models by their 3rd lesson.

Perfect! Aw man, this was great! I have a hard time knowing how to move things around to make them look like anything. I am able to use hotkeys and know what does what but never when to use them. Travis showed when to use them and I know with some more sessions I will start picking them up. He explains everything he does very clearly and he has some great techniques. All experience levels welcome! Classes are over Webcam/ScreenShared with Zoom. Must have a working computer (Windows,Mac,Linux) capable of running Blender installed and a computer microphone setup. Also requires a relatively stable internet connection.

When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
From childhood, I've always been drawn to Graphics, Models, Movies, and Animation. I also have a passion for teaching, so this really is a wonderful way to express it.

What makes you passionate about your subject?
I feel like there is endless creativity available here. I've always been amazed by CGI, and Animation. I love being able to dream up a scene and then jump into Blender to bring it to life.

What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
I'm very passionate about my field and for teaching, I have always had this "Understanding is Required" approach to learning which has helped me become very patient and talented at expressing complex topics in a simple but still meaningful way.

Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.
Ian Hubert would have to be my role model here. Entertainment and Enthusiasm helps everyone understand complex lessons when given in informative bite-sized pieces.

What are your keys to success?
Don't just follow along, Set a small goal, Learn just enough to get by, and Brute force your way through that small project. This approach has saved me numerous times. By doing this, you are able to make immediate progress and reinforce your learning.
