About the lesson

I love music and I love teaching music. I believe that learning any kind of subject should be something inspiring, joyful and challenging. That is my goal when teaching.

I prepare the lessons having 2 main concepts:
1) A holistic view of music when learning: Learning to play an instrument is very rewarding, but I discovered that if you learn how to deepen your ability to listen to music, why does it work , how to make music by yourself and concepts like these, the process feels extremely more rewarding and interesting.
2) Every student is unique: Each one has their own pace, their own interests, their own expectations and taste. A personalized lesson is extremely important, because it helps you to stay motivated and is more fulfilling if you accomplish what you desire.

About Tomás

Hello! My name is Tomás. I was born and raised in Argentina, a beautiful and quite weird country in South America.
Since i was a child, i have lived with music around me. The first instruments I grabbed was a guitar, which formed my personality and helped me gain friends and joyful moments throughout my life. Then I grabbed the piano, and it was a life changing experience. I fell in love with it, and I approached my adult life learning it, having fun with it and making music around it.
In college, I earned a Degree In Orchestral Conducting, which helped expand my musical horizons and taught me the ability to connect with others in a musical context.
Nowadays, I'm actually releasing my first album with songs I wrote (of course, at the piano). The search of song-writing and performing those songs is what inspires me the most!
I usually work as a pianist in different artistic projects, such as musicals, pop and indie bands, recording for different artists, and things like that.
Around all this process, i discovered the joy of learning and teaching. I am grateful for having the possibility to teach every day. I started first with young kids in their first stages of musical learning, and then I started to have adults from all ages and backgrounds! I am very fond of my students, and I appreciate the bond that is made within the process. For me, it's a privilege and I want the best for all of my students,
I believe that the best qualities to teach are Patience, Compassion, and Empathy. I work every day on those!!

    1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

When I was twelve years old, I met Lucas, a kid from another grade in my school, who introduced me to the guitar. From that moment, I became honestly passionate about music! Everyday I played something or listened to some new music. And that keeps happening up to this present moment!
I found my favorite instrument, which is the piano, when I was sixteen years old. There was an old piano in a friend's house, and I started playing a melody by ear, and that simple melody, with that old piano, took me to the road that got me where I am today.

    2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

There are a couple artists which I can't get enough. One is Bruno Major. A role model as a musician for me. His musicality, and his song-writing is just beautiful.
As a type of music, I enjoy songs most of all. They are a simple concept in which you can place all of your artistic spirit in favor of the song. I'm also a singer-songwriter and it's something I enjoy deeply.

  • 03

    3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

I could help you learn score reduction, which is the process of playing on the piano an orchestral score! I've worked it for three years during college, and it's quite demanding 😰.

  • 04

    4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

To master an instrument is a never-ending process, so any instrument is "complicated", because that takes a lot of motivation, patience and love. But, if I had to pick, I'd say the violin is quite a difficult instrument. It's so sensitive, and so tiny! Also, so beautiful ☺️.

  • 05

    5) What are your keys to success?

First of all, having fun and pleasure in every step of the process.
Also, practicing with focus on a daily basis! Having short and long term goals will help with the motivation and the challenge of daily practice. And, of course, a great tutor will help deeply in this area.

  • 06

    6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

I know he is not in this world anymore, but I would love to meet Mr Leonard Bernstein. He was such a visionary, an excellent teacher, and a great composer. Chatting with him, for sure would be an enriching experience.
I also would like to meet Finneas, and Paul McCartney. Because they are legends, and I love their music.

  • 07

    7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

I studied Orchestral Conducting at college. It was quite an experience. I wasn't bad at it, but it made me very nervous so I didn't really enjoy it too much. One time, a cellist told me to breathe with the music, not trying to controlling it, but to gently carry it. Next time I jumped to conduct, I felt so much difference. I felt lighter, and the music too. I am very thankful to that man.

    8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

For me, a great teacher needs to be empathetic, understanding and patient. I, thankfully, have this qualities and I've been practicing them for a long time.
To be a great music teacher, you also have to be a musician, which I am. And I keep trying to be the best musician I can everyday. So, I'm constantly learning too!
Also, personally, I always adapt to the student desires and intentions. I don't want to impose anything, I just want to help you achieve your goals in the best and healthiest way possible :)
