Former home schooling parent and private teacher connecting children's minds to phonemic awareness, reading enjoyment and creative writing.

About the lesson

My teaching approach comes from Charlotte Mason who says, "...let us recognize that learning to read is to many children hard work, and let us do what we can to make the task easy and inviting."
Reading is a skill that can excite a child and open up the world to them. Reading out loud to students from a variety of texts and building phonemic aptitude boosts confidence and launches a child into a life time of learning.

About Amie

I am a passionate life long learner who has taught in a variety of home school and private settings for over 10 years. I taught my children to read and enjoy teaching this skill to others. I also help children with handwriting. The methods I use will depend on the needs and goals of the students I work with.
