About the lesson

My teaching philosophy aligns closely with the four key components of 21st century learning: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Overall, I believe that students need to be empowered and be given the tools and motivation to find their own talents and strengths in a safe and fun learning space. I don't always “give away” answers. I allow my students time to find the answers and solutions themselves. Even if you ultimately don’t get what’s considered the "correct" answer, just the process of getting there through critical thought can prove to be more valuable...and you often know much more than you think! Communication, respect, and relationships are also key to get the most from lessons, and each student has his/her own goals, motivation, needs, and learning style(s). I look forward to getting the chance to bring my best and work with you!
