In particular, communicating in a way that is relatable, rather than more "know-it-all", always results in a better outcome. Perfect! Zak is an amazing teacher who has really helped me to actually sit down with my gear and record music instead of just getting frustrated with my DAW and plugins. He's not only been hugely helpful with getting a recording/producing process in place, but also with the fact that I'm writing songs in two VERY different genres, and he's got a great handle on what I'm trying to do with both sounds, and helping my approach.
